With a career spanning over twenty years in the Agricultural Trade, Robert Miller decided to use the skills developed in working with key industry players to start up on his own. In 1978 R H Miller was launched.

The business, based in Peebles, offered the local community a wide range of products and services, from fuel & pet foods, to ironmongery & country wear. The agricultural community was served using the branch as a direct sales office to collect essential or emergency supplies.

Over the following decades the business continued to grow and saw the opening of several new branches and the launch of many new products & services; from the 24 hour service station and specialist equine store at Fordel, Dalkeith to a new flagship store at South Park in Peebles. In 2010 the new e-commerce website was launched and now Miller’s serve the communities of the Scottish Borders, the Lothians and beyond.

The 25th anniversary was marked with the launch of the new Miller’s Town & Country brand – reflecting the fact that Miller’s offer all that’s needed by those who live, love and work in the countryside.

Always a supporter of local charities, Miller’s made a significant commitment to become the main sponsor of the newly revived Edinburgh Riding of the Marches 2009 and 2010.
